The notifications and reminders are the best thing to keep up updated on what we have to do or what we have forgotten. Most of the times you keep your mobile on silent or in vibration mode by which you can forget an important call or a SMS. If you have notifications setup for the important calls or SMS or email alerts you can quickly reply back on the same.
Remote Notifier for Android is the application which would give your notifications straight on your desktop PC. The Remote Notifier is a freeAndroid app which allows notification for received calls, SMS, MMS and on your computer, i.e., whenever you get a call or receive SMS, if it’s missed it would pop up and notify you that you have missed calls right on your PC.
But this has app has a little complex installation as it requires to installation on device and the following two steps should be performed –
- Remote Notifier on Android Device – The Remote Notifier app has to be downloaded from Android Market and should be installed on your phone.
- Remote Notifier on Desktop – In order to establish communication between your phone and PC, you should also install the desktop client version for Mac, Windows and Linux whichever you use. It can be downloaded from here.
Now you need to configure the settings so as to receive those notifications on your PC. The desktop client once installed successfully on your PC, can be accessed from the system tray, bring it to the front and then select the settings which is shown below in the image. It’s very simple, just tick the ones which are required and make sure that firewall is disabled on your PC.
Coming back to the settings on your Android phone, the settings are simple here too. Here you should set the options located under ‘Notification methods’ correctly.
Here is how to do it on your Android phone and the communication to your PC would be sent through the local Wi-Fi network that you have –
Once those settings are done on your phone, you are ready to start notifications on your desktop.
