Your Galaxy Note 3 or S5 does always listening voice wake-up similar to the highly advertised “Okay, Google Now” Motorola Touchless Control on the Moto X!

Differences:

►#1 You must say “Hi Galaxy” (while the screen is off)

►#2 Crippled SVoice will try to service you

No way to fix #1 on the Note3 (you can set your own wake-up command on the S5), but #2 can be solved with my little app: whenever S Voice would start, you are redirected to Google Voice Search

Pro features:

►Option to hide notification icon

►Stays enabled at the end of the week The free version has a reminder built in, it needs to be re-enabled once every week

►Offline announce mode: Instead of Google Voice Search, you can have the phone announce pre-selected information, when you wake it up by saying “Hi Galaxy”. It’s convenient when abroad, since without data connection neither S Voice nor Google Search could do anything. Select Offline announce mode in Settings, or have it auto enable while offline. I used this mode while skiing, I could just say “Hi Galaxy” (or “Time Galaxy”) to hear the time with the phone in my pocket.

It can announce: time, battery, or any notification using my other app Touchless Notifications.

Note: For S for Switch Voice Pro users the Trial reminders are disabled in Touchless Notifications Free, when it is started by S for Switch Voice offline mode. The free reminders are there when other functions are used.

0►Before install: start Samsung S Voice

1►MENU / Settings

2►enable “Voice wake-up” (S5: train wake-up command)

3►[optionally enable "Open via the home key"] (S5: long press HOME for Google)

4►test if your phone can wake to your voice

5►install this app S for Switch Voice

6►open it (grant root for quicker switching)

7►activate: ON (top)

8►click checkmark

A Opt in feature: to avoid accidental touches in your pocket S for Switch Voice can keep screen off in Time Announce mode, for which app needs DA. IMPORTANT: Disable Device Admin status before uninstalling S for Switch Voice

A Clear S Voice cache+data, reboot, reconfigure. S5? Enable car mode.

Q: Is this an alternative to Home2?

A: It is optimized to switch instantaneously after screen-off voice wake-up. For double click HOME, I recommend using it in combination w/ Home2 (S5 no need)

Q: Multiple commands in Google Now

A: Say “Hi Galaxy” when the screen is off.

Google Search can be reactivated by saying “Okay Google”

Q: What’s the impact of always listening on the battery life?

A: No noticeable hit on Snapdragon80x based Note3 or S5, as this CPU has a dedicated core to monitor voice commands. The S3, S4 and older phones don’t have this HW feature.

What’s New

2.53 Keep “Back►Home” delay at 0, unless you have trouble backing out of Google. New version should work for more S5 users in car mode.
