SMS – Use “ SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts –  Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Make sure that the phone has a minimum of 30% so as to make sure that device doesn’t get turned off in the middle of rooting process. From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging

Procedure to Root HTC Droid DNA on Jellybean 4.1 Firmware:

  • Assuming that the ADB is installed in your computer, you now need to connect your HTC Droid DNA Smartphone to the computer with Original USB cable and then head over to the HTC Bootloader Unlock Page where you need to follow all the on screen instructions for getting the code. Place the Superuser zip package in your device.
  • Now, you will need to Download the Clock Work Mod recovery image in your computer along with SU & Busy Box Package in your computer. Extract the Clock Work Mod recovery zip to get “DNA.CWR.6.Large.Font.img”. Place the cwm recovery image file in the “platform-tools” or in the “tools” folder or in the “tools” folder.
  • Open command prompt in your computer to enter the below mentioned command,

fastboot flash recovery DNA.CWR.6.Large.Font.img

  • Now, you will have to reboot your device by entering the below mentioned command. In command prompt you will have to enter the below mentioned command,

fastboot reboot-bootloader

  • Now, boot the device in the Clock Work Mod recovery mode and then select the option of “install zip from sd card” and “choose zip from sd card” to select the SU_Busybox_Package.zip file. Once the rooting process os completed, you will now need to select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device.

To check on whether the firmware is rooted or not, you will have to check the same from the application called “Root Checker”. Download the Root Checker app from the Google PLAY Store and check with the same.
