Even if you have this option enabled, you can prevent folders from scanning by placing an empty file named ". Nomedia" in that folder. If you put it in the root of the USB device, the entire device can not scan.

The supported file systems depends on the firmware of the device. In most devices, and at least vfat/fat/fat32 ext2/3/4 are supported. In the latest versions of Android, also supports ntfs in read-only mode. Some devices are also compatible with exFAT out of the box, but most do not.
StickMount can use "ntfs-3g" and binary "mount.exfat-fuse" to add support for NTFS (not tested) and exFAT, but these have not been included. Placing the "ntfs-3g" or "fuse mount.exfat" files in the root of your internal memory (/ sdcard) StickMount used automatically.

Troubleshooting ----- -----
For some users, the application is not working, while in reality it is the device itself or the cable does not work. One OTG cable is not the other OTG cable. If you have a USB stick with a light in it, should come on when you connect the Galaxy Nexus using the OTG cable.
