At Nokia we've been thinking of ways to make smartphones easier to use, and there is a problem we've thought a lot; how to find suitable material as needed. Today, people have an average of 48 apps on their phones, and that number is growing. When you add in the contacts, web content and tasks, is easy to see how complicated our devices have become used.
Did you know that every time you shuffle a deck of cards that is making history? With 52 cards to a deck, the number of possible combinations is so large that combination probably never existed before. Our phones are starting to feel this randomly too.
Finding the correct application or contact - the ace of spades - constantly changes depending on where you are, what you are doing, and what time of day it is. We are introducing a pre-beta version of the Z Launcher to help change this.
As soon as you install and start using Z Launcher, you begin to learn what it is used throughout the day and automatically surfaces which are more likely to need in a timely manner.

We also added a feature called Scribble - a quick and fun way to find anything on your phone in just a second. We're used to typing on our phones to find things - digging through folders, slip and displacement. Scribble makes this easier: simply draw the first letter of what you are looking for, right on the screen. Ta da! Z Launcher brings you the proper application, contact, or task virtually instantaneous. Or, as we like to say, less tapping, more apping.
The more you use, the better it gets at predicting each of its always / always / whatever. Thus the smartphone becomes more of a myriad of constantly shuffling things - is truly your device.
We are releasing the first version of Z Launcher with a limited number of downloads in the beginning, to see how it works and learn from your comments.In the coming months we will provide updates on new releases, features, and availability.
