So, before we proceed you need to make sure that your phone is on the XXALK6 firmware which you can check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone” where the firmware version will be mentioned as XXALK6.   • Creating a backup of all your data is an awesome idea, so what are you waiting for? With the help of below mentioned steps its always better to create a backup of all the data so that just in case if any day your data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored with the help of below mentioned steps.

SMS – Use “ SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts –  Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging and also make sure that your device is left with the minimum of 40% or the device will get turned off in the middle of rooting process. Also, make sure that your computer has active USB connections that is with Full Read / Write Access.

Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini I8190 on XXALK6 Firmware:

  • Download the Rooting Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then extract the rooting package in your device.
  • Open Odin in your computer and turn off your Galaxy S3 mini so that it can be entered in the download mode.
  • Download mode in Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini I8190 can be entered manually by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. Keep holding the power button for 3 -4 seconds till you see the Download Mode Logo in your device.
  • Once the device enters in the download mode, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section will turn yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully and you are ready to proceed to the next step.
  • Click on “PDA” and select the tar file from the extracted rooting package. Once selected, click on “Start” for starting the process of rooting. Once the device is rooted successfully, the device will be rebooted automatically.
  • Once you see the home screen / language preference page, you can then disconnect the device and enjoy the same. Very soon we will be coming out with many custom ROM firmwares and apps which can be used in the rooted device.
  • To check on whether your phone has rooted successfully or not, download “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store and check on whether your device has got rooted or not. If the device is not rooted, you need to re follow the instructions again.
  • Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.
