Root Galaxy S Advance on XXLQ4 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

Galaxy S Advance I9070 phones running on XXLQ4 version of Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware can now be rooted and in the due course of this tutorial we will be guiding you with the same. Once you root the device, you can then install the apps and other tweaks for customizing the device as per your choice. Quick Pre Requisites:

Contacts –  Sync with the Gmail application,

APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

• From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging and also make sure that your device is left with the minimum of 40% or the device will get turned off in the middle of customizing process. Ensure that your device is not rooted.

• Recovery mode in Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In recovery mode, select “clear cache” and “wipe data / factory reset” so that all the data will get cleared from the device.

• Download Rooting Package for Galaxy S Advance from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to computer with the help of original USB cable and then place the Root.Zip file in your device’s external SD Card.

• Now, disconnect the device and then turn Off your phone so that it can be entered in the Recovery mode. Recovery mode in Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In recovery mode, select “clear cache” and “wipe data / factory reset” so that all the data will get cleared from the device.

• In recovery mode select “install from zip card” and select the “root.zip” file for rooting the device. It will take around 3 -4 minutes for rooting the device. Once the device is rooted, the phone will be rebooted.

Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung device refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from beginning.
